I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has had the privilege of empowering individuals and families for over 12 years. I received my Master of Social Work from Columbia University, Bachelor in Culture and Politics at Georgetown University and Certificate in Spiritual Direction from St. Thomas University. After many years working in a variety of clinical settings, I decided to combine my personal experience, education, and interests to create “Your Story Services.” Through this practice, I can tap into my strengths and pursue my various passions by offering therapy, clinical supervision, workshops, and spiritual direction both in person and through telehealth. I also love to teach and serve as Adjunct Faculty and Field Liaison at the FIU School of Social Work. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to podcasts, watching stand-up comedy, dancing Zumba, and reading fiction.

What Can I Expect from Our First Session?

Given my background, clinical experience and professional training, I specialize in serving first and second-generation immigrants, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their family members. I work with teens, adults, families and groups. As a Latina Catholic Woman who is also an LGBTQIA ally, I offer an awareness and sensitivity towards both the gifts and challenges that clients with intersecting identities may experience.

I also have a specialty in Sand Tray Therapy. This is an expressive intervention which taps into the subconscious mind by allowing individuals to process their emotions and experiences by creating scenes in a sand tray. Although I originally learned how to use sand tray therapy with children, I now use it effectively in therapy, clinical supervision, workshops and spiritual direction with teens, adults, families and groups.

Whether serving as your therapist, clinical supervisor, workshop leader or spiritual director, I create a warm environment in which you can share your concerns and hopes, without fear of judgement. I help you identify specific goals, recognize the many strengths and skills you already have and offer, and serve as a trusted companion on your journey.
